When a friend of mine asked me to produce a music video for his band, I didn’t know where to start. Other than the song itself, he didn’t have any sense of what he wanted from a music video. So I listened to the song a couple times, and started thinking about its themes and possible stories to go along with it. At the same time, I started taking pictures of street art that I would find on the streets of Berlin. And unrelatedly, I found a book about the Cold War while walking in Friedrichshain. In remix fashion, I decided to mash up all of this stuff into the music video. It was really my first foray into animating with After Effects, and even if I learned a lot, even this simple piece took quite a bit of time.
